What this site adds to the source
The FoodKeeper data publishes up to nine storage figures per food and stops there. Every page here also carries four things computed rather than copied: the ratio between freezer and refrigerator, the ratio between sealed and opened, the item's rank among the foods it shares a shelf with, and the ranges turned into a date on your own calendar.
The largest of those freezer gains on this site is shared by Shrimp, crayfish and Chicken, each 180 times longer frozen than the window it has without a freezer.

How a food earns a page
One page per food name, not per row of the source. Where the USDA lists several kinds under one name — sorts of leftovers, sorts of milk — they share a page and each kind keeps its own windows. A name earns a page where the source gives it a window outside the freezer and at least 3 neighbors to rank it against, and where its text differs materially from every page already published.
Some of these windows are safety limits and some are about quality alone, and the two want opposite things done when they run out. Every page says which of the two it is printing, and what to do once it has passed.
KeepsUntil is an independent reference built on public USDA data. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the U.S. Department of Agriculture or the Food and Drug Administration. Whether a given window is a safety limit or a quality window is stated on the page that prints it.
